So I'm taking my brain dump and I'm making it friends only, as quite a bit of what I wrote about were things concerning OTHER people and I didn't exactly get permission from all of them to post them. But they were all things I saw and they were all things I want to write about in my diary. So I'm making them friends only. If you want on this list to read my core dump, and you're not already seeing it, let me know. If you want your name (which is currently your fetlife name or the name you were presenting under) changed to your LJ name, that's perfectly fine (I'll do it eventually for the people whose LJs I know). If you want your name turned into just initials, that's fine too.

The suckage is having to leave morningboon. Which was obvious suckage.

The awesome, however, is flying Porter Airlines. No hassles, a 2 min. ferry ride, VERY friendly staff, no waiting, a large lounge with complimentary beverages and snacks and a great coffee machine, free wifi, and even some Macs set up around with free Internet... and they're not set up special to block you out of using programs and stuff. In fact, I'm looking out at the airstrip now, writing at you on a Mac. All in all, I feel pampered... glad to be here instead of having to suffer the indignities of air travel along with my mourning of leaving morningboon.

I'm heading to Newark (EWR), and then heading to TESFest. Apparently I'm speaking on a panel of sex bloggers. I don't think of myself as a sex blogger, but I do write about sex, BDSM and gender in my diary here. (I'm realizing I haven't written about it in a while. I'm going to have to remedy that.) And it's technically a blog. I'm actually kinda excited about my volunteer shifts. I'm doing the panel, I'm taking care of the People of Size Swim, and I'm DMing for 4 hours.

I'm lucky that I'm going to a con after leaving morningboon. It's a lot better than me just going home to be alone and lonely. I'm going to spend days with my friends, doing something I love, and that's good.

So yes... I'll see you all at TESFest. If you see me, say hi! Hugs and snuggles are always good too.

My Christmas was utterly fantastic, having faceless_wonder over was hella cool, my Winter holiday party went terrifically, hanging out with miscreeds the day afterward is always great... but now it's Monday, everyone has gone, and I have nothing to really look forward to in the immediate future. I've got no NYE plans. And so the post-holiday blues have set in. I'm supposed to meet up with an old friend from college and his gal who are visiting from out of town tonight, but... meh.

That being said, the wonderful faceless_wonder was able to score a Shmoocon ticket for me. No crashing the con for me this year! I have 2 cons in 2 weekends in February: Shmoocon the first weekend of Feb. and Dark Odyssey: Winter Fire the 2nd weekend. I will be so conned out.

This is one of the coolest things I've heard about in a long time. Not to mention is the embodiment of my life's goal and my philosophies: re. sex and information made manifest. I encourage my sex-positive Open Source/Transparent mindset friends (which covers pretty much all the queer, kinky and hacker friends I have, which is the majority of my friends) to check this out and get hella involved.

You can bet your sweet asses I'll be there. (miscreeds, I'll need to crash with you during this, k?)

In short, for the hackers: It's Barcamp, but with sex.

In short, for the sex positive folk: It's a conference on sexuality, kink, and gender where everyone participates and noone's just an attendee. It's as open as possible: free, all talks can and will be recorded, information from the talks will be spread on the web afterwards. It's to get everyone in on the discussion on sexuality, it's to get everyone sharing and teaching with everyone else, and it's to get sexual information available to all people, regardless of age, socioeconomic station, gender, sexuality, etc.

Rose just left for Raleigh, NC, because he didn't have a job or a place to stay here. He crashed with me for 10 days, but it really wasn't feasible for him to stay here with me more than that. (So I'm still a little weepy... be nice to me today.)

I'm looking at cheapass busses from DC to Raleigh. I haven't been able to find any yet (GoToBus USED to do that route, but not anymore. Now they're just NYC-Raleigh.) but am curious if anyone else knows of any. I'm also willing to go DC-Richmond-Raleigh. I've found some DC-Richmond lines but am still looking for Richmond-Raleigh.

Ended up at the Crucible on Saturday. Ended up playing with dystonic (who looked fabulous in her pretty magenta dress), niyamas, and Dr. Extreme. This wasn't a planned out thing... it started with me showing Dr. Extreme a decent way to tye up Dyst's wrists with the ribbon from her dress, and ended up with a bunch of us hitting her with just about everything in Niy's toybag made for hitting (and more than a few things that weren't meant for it. Ever hit someone with one of those BR travel coffee mugs? I have now. :-D) Niy did fun things with her and knives. I have to admit, I was jealous. I wish it was me he was doing those things to. She was a lucky girl on Sat. night. And apparently she's still sore now. I guess that meant we did good. :-)

OH! And Dyst and I gave Dr. Extreme his first needle scene. I did the piercing, she did the stroking of his head and basically talking him through it and all that jazz. It went well until the very end when his body & psyche quite suddenly had had more than enough "trauma" before we could get the needles out and we had to get them out quickly and talk him down a bit, but considering that he added needles to his FetLife profile as something he's into, I think it all worked out ok. :-)

As for events coming up...

Let's see... I still have those tickets to NYC and I'd go if I had a place to stay. Can any of you put up just me for a week? It's the 4th through the 10th. Please? I can contribute some money towards groceries at the end of the trip.

The 3rd is my WMATA RAC meeting. Yay for getting to geek out over transit!

The 13th is the AB/DL Munch (I'm looking forward to seeing symelion again) and the Radical Faeries Yule (@ PeggyLee's house! Yay! I miss him and his partner.)

The weekend after that is Bethlehem with Mom. Also very much looking forward to that.

For Christmas, I'm having a small, select group of people over for a Misfit's Christmas. If you don't have anywhere to go on Christmas (or if going home to your family sucks), let me know, and I'll see what I can do. There will be turkey and Christmas dinner. And maybe we'll even do "Jewish Christmas" that night. (Yay for Chinese and a movie!)

I couldn't afford a real Christmas tree this year, so I have a fake one I borrowed. At least I don't have the fiasco of putting it in the stand this year. Or putting lights in it. I still have to put the lights up around the door, though. (Anyone wanna come over and help me trim the tree?)

faceless_wonder tried to get me Shmoocon tickets today, but couldn't get through. But then again, apparently one of their servers crashed hard under the load, so they may do another intermediate sale sometime this month. (If anyone knows when this is going to be, please alert me or faceless_wonder immediately.) It's so nice of her to try to get me into Shmoocon.

(Why the icon? Because I felt like it, that's why.)

My brain isn't remembering things in order, so I'll try to do this.

Friday morning started out with a good breakfast with motorhead05, nyghtowl and B. The hotel's restaurant was exorbitantly expensive, but NyghtOwl stays at that hotel often enough that he managed to get breakfast vouchers.

I went to the class on Fire Play with PyroSadist. I tried it once before with him, during an Exploratorium, and didn't like it... it was too painful. But then I tried it again, both topping and bottoming, with someone else, and liked it. So I tried my hand at topping with it. After the initial "zomg I'm afraid it's going to hurt my hand", I started getting into it. Especially the lighting your hand on fire and then warming up your bottom with it part. 'Cause, you know, my hands are ALWAYS cold. And then I bottomed to it. And, dude, did I go into happy floaty space. I left that class a babbling mess. Which didn't help with meeting people I arranged to meet at a later time. They musta thought I was a space case. (Really, I explained what happened, and they seemed to understand.)

As much as I hate to say it, I think that was some of the best play I got all weekend. Must do this again. Must also make my own fireplay wands to do this with others. Yay fire!

Oh, and at herodotusjr, sorry, but when you say "At least you're not on fire!" I'm going to have to say now "I know! I'm not on fire! It sucks!"

I skipped my 2nd morning class, I believe to talk with wylddelirium and some with ninjaslug. It's hard to catch Del for long periods of time, but he was waiting for others, so we had a decent amount of time for a good conversation on NOLOSE, fat, fetish, piercing/gauging, gender and other cool topics.

In the afternoon, I was hurting emotionally for some reason (I don't remember now... it was a very moody weekend for me, probably due to being on my period), and was wondering if I should attend my class on Service for the Novice Top.

Well, let's see. Where to begin?

My suitcase was already full of clean clothes from going to Williamsburg last weekend with winterroseasfr. So that made packing a lot easier.

However, getting there was trickier. Didn't want to risk Metro frisking mah bagz, so I took bus instead. 70 to I think the D6. Dropped me off right at the hotel. Giant heavy ass suitcase 3 blocks to the bus and then lugging it around from there is never fun, but I dealt.

When I got there, I saw motorhead5 and nyghtowl checking in. I keep having this thing with nyghtowl where we both will show up at events held at the Hyatt at the exact same time w/o even trying. It's kinda weird, but quite convenient. nyghtowl offered for me to crash with him again this time, which was quite nice of him. I remembered to bring earplugs, as he snores louder than a chainsaw.

Checked in, got our stuff up to the room. I forget what those fuckers went off to do, but I went to the pre-con meet & greet. Had good blue cheese, schmoozed, met some ppl I had seen on the event website. Always a good thing.

And then the 2 fuckers (it's just easier to call them that) and I went off to a cigar bar in the Metro Center-y area called Shelly's Backroom. Fantastic ambience, good food, good drinks, good service. (PRICEY!) Interesting clientele. Men and women (more women than I would have expected, actually. And certainly not just butch women.) in either casual clothes or business wear. Got initiated into the NyghtOwl fold by playing the Movie Game with them. I'll have to teach it to my movie geek friends sometime... ya'all'll like it. Was taught the fine art of cigars by nyghtowl, who not only is an aficionado, but is also a fetishist.

OH! And I had nyghtowl choose a drink and a cigar for me. I had never had a man order for me before, and I always wanted to try. It was kinda D/s-y and sexy. Sometime I'd even like to let a guy choose dinner for me, too. (Any takers?)

nyghtowl and I have an interesting dynamic. We're both switches, and we both enjoy gender play. So sometimes he's Sir/Daddy and I'm boi. Sometimes *I'M* Daddy and HE'S boy. Sometimes he's Dom and I'm sub of whatever gender. But most of the time, we're equals. We slip into and out of play casually and sometimes rapidly. And having spent more time together this weekend, we've grown even closer. I'd compare our relationship to being very similar to the one I have with RS, close friends who love each other w/o being in love with each other, but with more play. But that might be because we see each other rarely and most of the time, it's in a place with BDSM. I have a feeling if we lived near each other, it would be more like with RS. Which is interesting, because they're both tall, large men. They kinda remind me of each other.

Anyway, throughout the weekend, we'd fall into quick and easy play together. I would help him with his boots. Do little things for him. Call him Sir. He'd call me boy occasionally. I liked that.

Cabbed back (first time in a cab since they changed to the meter system. I'm curious to see how much it costs to go from Chinatown to the Crucible now.), had B. (don't know his LJ name either) crash with us.

An excellent, non-kinky start to BR.

So that's what's going on in my life.

So I've been promising you a scene report, of the amazing thing that happened to me on Friday night. Combine fatigue with a blurry memory and add in the fact that I just don't know where to begin, and that's why I'm late on this. But I must get this down. Because it's too incredible to leave to the chance that I may forget it.

Where to start? Perhaps I need to start weeks ago, when I decided I wanted to get into Doctor Who, because the show meant a lot to a number of my friends, as well as other ones just really really liked it.

All I know is that in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, there's a Time Lord living with his cats, but without his Companion. And in Takoma Park, MD, right on the border of Washington DC, USA, there's a Companion living with her goldfish and ratties, but thinking about the Time Lord she had to leave behind. Oh, of course, there will be other Time Lords, there will be other regenerations of the man, but, as they say...

I ended up going to BR XX on Friday night. And I found myself looking for a Doctor Who scene. I wore a badge saying "Lost Companion looking for a Time Lord". And a Time Lord was found for me.

I want to write a full scene report, but let's just say for right now, I know why they say "you never forget your first Doctor".

But it's 4:30 am and I'm falling asleep and my right foot has already decided to fall asleep ahead of time, so I'll tell you tomorrow.

(BTW, if you're worried about spam, don't be. I would NEVER sell or give away addresses... and Constant Contact has a VERY serious anti-spam policy. If you take your name off of my list, saying you don't want email newsletters anymore, I *can't* add you back on... only you can.)

So I'm off to Shmoocon today. From there I'm going to be heading straight to the Women's Play Party at The Crucible tonight, then home (need to remember to find a ride home from there).

Tomorrow and Sunday are both Shmoocon as well. I'm expecting a call sometime this weekend from a friend to go and check out the Dealer's Room at Mid Atlantic Leather (which is also this weekend). I hope I get that call. I have no idea where MAL is (especially because their ENTIRE FRIKIN WEBSITE is in FLASH! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRARWWWW! There's NO REASON for that!) or what the hours are.

Gotta remember to not eat dinner (there's gonna be food at the play party, and I need to save money). Gotta remember to pick something yummy up for the play party.

Lots of stuff to do and remember. Only now i need to take a shower and figure out what the fuck I'm wearing and put clothes to change into in my play bag.

Oh, and boil my dildos. (this requires FINDING Buzz, my peacock blue one that sparkles)

Talked to orcinus_dorka a bit today on the phone, after that, spent the entire day with herodotusjr. And I mean the ENTIRE. God, I'm tired. We did SO MUCH. And I TOTALLY fangirled out. Hung out with Matt (my old coworker) some. That was nice.

Just so tired on the inside. And I believe I'm falling into post-doing-alot-of-shit depression.

Got some kick ass new pants (2 pair!) from Hot Topic for like 75% off (I think they charged me wrong). I spent WAY too much money today. And I mean WAY.

I'm going to try to go to Williamsburg, VA on Monday with herodotusjr (he's a giant history geek and my grandparents live there). I have Shmoocon at the end of the week next week. Also, Mid Atlantic Leather (their ENTIRE WEBSITE is in fucking Flash. There is NO GOOD REASON for their ENTIRE WEBSITE to be in fucking Flash. GRR. Makes c4bl3fl4m3 want to KILL LIKE THE DAMNED!). And a women's play party at the Crucible on the 13th that I'm going to try to get to (I like to go to the events that Glenda does. She's nice. Maybe sometime I'll get her to beat me.) Somewhere in here I need to get some short term employment.

Last night, my nose was UBER itchy. So I itched it. Now it's all stuffed up. I think I'm coming down with something. And I just took all those meds to get me from OVER something. God damn it.

Ok... I better post this before it isn't the 5th anymore.

So I'm back from AnimeUSA. I didn't sleep last night... got about 30 mins of sleep today around 10 am and then about 2 1/2 hours between 4 and 6:30.

I met a bunch of great people. Got to sing Trekkie Monster's part in "The Internet is for Porn" with some random people. Played Chrononauts and Fluxx with people (oh, and played Apples to Apples on Friday!), played alot of DDR from about 3 to 6 am this morning. I suck at it, but I enjoy myself.

Oh, and I splurged and got the blackout contact lenses. They black out my irises so I just like I have giant pupils. Yes, I got it for my Ramos!Ock costume. I couldn't not get it. Although I've been having serious problems getting them in. All I could manage yesterday was the right one in. I think it'll just take practice. But now I'm going to need to get a case and cleaning supplies for them. I don't think I'd ever want to use contacts for eyesight correction.

Everyone I met (except for one lesbian bitch who insisted that bisexuals were NOT queer... heh... try telling that to some of the bis *I* know!... but she might have been drunk) was really nice and friendly. I felt like I fit in with the group very well, I just didn't have the common cultural knowledge that they all have... but I'm learning it... and I know I'm not the only n00b to the scene. It's acceptible in this group to squee and be hyper. And noone thinks any less of you. I like that. I like that alot.

Oh! And I ran into someone I met at The Fifth HOPE! It was weird. I though I knew him from it because of the Mailinator shirt he was wearing. But he recognized me and damn near remembered my name (well, my handle). It was weird seeing him again. But quite cool.

Saw some more amazing cosplay. Yesterday brought us 3 guys in full Ghostbusters outfits, including very detailed backpacks. Today was an AMAZING Rei Ayanami (from Neon Genesis Evangelion) cosplayer that I had to stop myself from molesting right there. My GOD was she hot. Once again, emails will get you pics access.

I will DEFINATELY go to more cons. I hope to meet more wonderful people... and shoutz out to anyone who's reading my journal now because of meeting me at the con.

Went to AnimeUSA today... had such a good time that I ended up upgrading to the weekend pass. How did THAT get out? ;D) Feel free to give me glomps and/or hugs. I love 'em all. I'll probably also be hanging out at the gaming tables some, trying to get people to play Early American Chrononauts or Fluxx or Aquarius with me. Come on over; I'll teach you how to play!

There's a good chance I'm going up to PA for Turkey Day on Monday. It'll make it easier for all parties involved.

Oh, and I got to hang with bluesdrive today. I hope I bump into her again tomorrow.

I figure, because it's an hour, we'll do a bit of a panel at first (if not just opening it up to a free for all for just women at first), and then take half an hour and make it a free for all for anyone.

This time last week, I was with Her.

In other news, I'm going to the Washington DC Comic-Con on Sunday. I'll be cosplaying Dr. Otto Octavius. This will be my first con (that's not a computer con), and my first time cosplaying in public. My outfit for Otto I already have (I bought for RPing last weekend).
I hope to get some Doc Ock merchandise, and a few comics perhaps.
