Slow Satisfaction BDSM Book Hooks! #MFRWhooks

No, I don’t mean suspension hooks, I mean delicious snippets from the book SLOW SATISFACTION! My latest BDSM romance, the final installment in the Struck by Lightning Trilogy, came out yesterday! Every week a group of romance writers all post a bunch of “book hooks” so check out links to all of them at the bottom of the post.

Spankings and bondage don’t make a person fall in love any more than candlelight and roses do.

    1. “Negotiation is fun. Contracts are dull.” (Said James while running a cane over Karina’s buttocks)
    2. “Spanking is only for those I love, not those I loathe.” -James
    3. “Spankings and bondage don’t make a person fall in love any more than candlelight and roses do.”
    4. “Any penalty he exacted if I failed would be as much fun as any reward for success. BDSM was win-win that way.”
    5. Karina: “So our safeword is ‘no?’” </ br>James: “It’s a perfectly good word, isn’t it?”
    6. “Oh fuck,” I said, and I meant it.

Savage Love: Working out the kinks

My boyfriend of two years cannot climax or maintain an erection unless his testicles are handled, squeezed, pulled, or pressed on (preferably with my stockinged foot or knee). Needless to say, intercourse does not work very well, and our sexual repertoire is rather limited, which is frustrating for both of us. His doctor says his erectile dysfunction is not physiological. I’ve read your advice on “death grip” masturbation and suspect it’s a variation of that. I would love to try to “rewire” him; we have started trying to conceive, so we need him to ejaculate successfully at least a few times per cycle (to increase our chances but also for sperm health). We are in our mid-30s, so I don’t want to wait months for him to increase his sensitivity. What would you suggest?

Do you have a Doctor Who community or a journal that we are not currently linking to? Leave a note in the comments and we'll add you to the who_daily reading list.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Because of the high posting volume and the quantity of information linked in each newsletter, who_daily will no longer link fanfiction that does not have a header (that includes no listing of main characters). For an example of what a "good" fanfic header is, see the user info. Please note, the fic must have a header with the fic, not just in the link post, in order to be added to the newsletter. Thank you.

It’s launch day for SLOW SATISFACTION! BDSM blog tour stops today:

slow_satisfaction_150pxWhew! It’s Day One of the Slow Satisfaction Blog Tour and there are a LOT of places you can read about the book, me, and enter to win copies:

Two hot excerpts (warning: spoilers) along with giveaways for 10 sets of autographed books (all three in the series!) are at Katiebab’s Babbling About Books and at Smut and Bon Bons.

And then a third excerpt (warning: spoilers) is up on a plethora of blogs. Thanks to the Mixed Emotions Book Blog, My Book Filled Life, Deal Sharing Aunt, Sapphyria’s Steamy Reviews, Confessions of a Librarian in Training, Buttontapper Press, and Jersey Girl Sizzling Reviews for blitzing the excerpt on launch day!

Eager Reader posted the first review!
“Soooo thankful that I got my hands on this book a little bit early since this has become one of my favorite series to date. We have been taken on such a roller coaster and the games that they play are so intricate that I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve been really excited to see where it goes… while i’m sad that the trilogy is over, I’m really happy with how it went!”

Read the full review here: Eager Reader.

And I wrote a guest blog for Rainy Day Reviews:

“I wanted to write a story about a kinky billionaire because I feel some of the books out there are, well, giving kinky billionaires a bad name.”

Read my guest blog on why I wrote Slow Satisfaction: BookjunkieMom’s Rainy Day Reviews.

Many more blogs, contests, and interviews are coming in the next 14 days!

Oh, also, did you see that the UK/Australia/NZ ebook editions of all three Struck by Lightning books launched today, too? From Piatkus Entice, an imprint of Little, Brown UK! Check it out: http://www.piatkusentice.co.uk/ebooks/slow-surrender/

Decision made

After talking with the couple of MomFriends I could reach and failing to reach one of the other MomFriends and my cousin, I'd covered the few people to whom I'd already mentioned 9/14, and realized that Wellesley has the obits in the December issue, and giving more time for something to run in the magazine, and hence for me to hear from others from the past, and as well to identify people who might speak - these all seem like a good plan.

I'll probably try to figure something out with the couple local folks around that time. Maybe figure out a place to plant a tree? Or maybe bring them out to Annapolis. DC area is far too big - Potomac and Landmark and Crownsville.

Today was spent mostly with Exsmof; went to pick him up and of course the people doing the estimate were wrong by a couple hours. A good lunch at Uno's, mostly the salad and later the sandwich, with a bonus extra deep dish single on account of the waiter misremembering my order, and a little swimming in the outdoor pool, along with time to manage some of the aforementioned phone calls. After that, as I said in a filtered FB post,
I got to CCB this evening because Mobtown was feeling far away, and, hey, live band. I'd forgotten that I'd partially planned on Mobtown because I figured there would be some ILHC spillover; I decided asking Nina to mention the 8/30 dance wasn't worth the two hours driving. Suffice to say that the evening was much improved by several very good dances (one from a guy who I think was in from Korea) but especially by the band wrapping up and the DJ music starting.

I had heard nothing but good about HBN; I suspect part of it was the sound setup, but the first two songs I was there for (after the break at 10) were painful.
Like seriously, I don't think I've ever gotten to CCB and wanted to leave within 2 dances. It's possible that it was the sound setup, but whatever was going on, it was awful.

...and then I've stayed up partly with bubble witch of all things. Probably should remove all games but Duolingo. I skipped some levels and then things went awry.

Also, zomg stiff after exotirobics and partner acro. Plus bonus magic pain spots where I was balancing on feet on my hips. But a good thing. As mentioned to soong,
Finally made it to Meridian park down here and flew with, um, five different bases, two of whom were women about my size. One of the guys it was an experience much like with you -- we didn't manage to make turning me over as "walnut" work, but at one point I did do the shoulder stand, and then at some point in there I was holding my ankles and doing stuff and I think he was holding me up on my upper arms that way.

The folks who both fly and base were ever so helpful - going from bird to straddle throne required an unintuitive weight distribution, and the guy I was trying with knew what he needed me to do, but not as much how to go about doing it without the two of us pitching over to the side :) So I got to watch Jess do it right and explain what she was doing, but also she had A change some things with his foot positioning as well, after which it made far more sense and was far easier. With a more experienced guy later, it was almost trivial...

I remain fascinated by how the experience level of the other partner makes such a difference, even though it's similar in dance. I'm assuming that my flying and someone else's flying is a big difference in how tiring it is for the base. (Big tip at the end of the evening was Move More Slowly)
What I didn't mention in there was that it was initially pretty awkward feeling, because I pretty much felt like asking anybody to 'play' was asking a favor. But I seem to have reasonable potential. Maybe I'll finally get to the acroyoga classes at YogaDistrict.

And moving MomMemorial out, beyond meaning that I'll have a chance to do it right, means that I also will have the chance to manage to be useful to other friends in the near future. Tomorrow, though, I'm going to work on my own apartment.

but now, time to put yawning to use andd put out the light.

Seeking Companion for L.I. Who 2

I'd like to go, but last year I went alone and, despite making friends at the event, felt alone.
The convention website has no forum or bulletin board and asks for communication via social media which I don't do.

Who's interested in going but but needs transportation? Who's already going and looking for a roommate? 3 - day memberships are running out and the main hotel sold out in June.

I'm looking for someone who can share a room; I can provide transportation. Travel with me from New York and you'll arrive in a TARDIS!

vvalkyri August 25 2014, 21:02

conflicted (mommemorial)

It suddenly dawns on me that it's less than three weeks out, and while that's certainly not such a short time, it's a short time in terms of whether or not anybody's actually flying in (best I can tell nobody's made arrangements), and a short time in terms of how I still haven't reached people or done well at trying to, and in terms of how I haven't the slightest idea how I want to do something like this. Plus what sort of deadline for Wellesley to make mention in the magazine.

Collapse )

I was getting somewhere with tracking people down when I was at Dad's but progress has been little since I got back.

Things I'm going to need help with, regardless
- at least some instruction on such a website
- electronica - something that can show pictures at mommemorial, whenever that is
- how to go about livestreaming. Does the venue even have wifi? Or is it pointless anyway
- help putting together a book
- figuring out how to work anything, like food, to tables and chairs to whether there would be pictures scattered about or just on screens
- babysitting of /me/ so that I go through the pictures and the cards and stuff. finding people. there's people i know how to find but haven't brought myself to call, 'cause they're the ones who walked away.

What's important to me is that /her/ friends are there. And just getting something into the paper and the washington wellesley club and the condo newsletter... that would be likely enough to reach people who care. So maybe I'm being stupid to be feeling overwhelmed and thinking that I can't make this happen in a little under 3 weeks?

to answer the question of why, anyway? it's because I feel it's the least I can do for her, particularly given what the disease stole from her. But also because that's how I get that history back, too.
