My Guests?

So you might have seen the My Guests feature thing. I wish it would let you choose separately if you are anonymous vs. if your guests are anonymous, but since it doesn't, I'm giving you the choice.

In a week, I'll tally it up and change my blog accordingly. (Personally? I'm leaning towards anonymous. I know how people can be about privacy.)

And, really, I'm surprised no one's bitched at LJ about this yet. Everyone should have the right to choose for themselves whether or not they lurk anonymously.

everyone does. it works exactly like okcupid's similar feature. if you track guests you are trackable. if you don't want to be trackable, then leave it off, but you can't track others.

it's supposed to default to off.

yeah i dont like these features, so i always keep non-trackable/tracking. Its just kind of creepy to me. Personally i dont really care who looks at my profile page. i mean i suppose it might be... interesting? but beyond that? seems like it would create more drama than is necessary.

i myself wouldn't have a problem with it being recorded that i read this blog...but i know there are plenty of people who would have problems with being tracked (and even certain times that i click on links that i wouldn't necessarily want to be tracked to...), so in consideration of that, i vote anonymous.

Even if she turns tracking on, it will only track people who have also done so.

Ah, see, I didn't realize that. They should make that clear.

In that case, I'm probably going to go recorded. But that being said, that means that I'm implying it's ok for ME to be recorded places. And that's fucked up I can't choose them separately.

reduces accusations of spying? :shrug: that's how OKCupid does it. If you don't want people to know you're visiting their profile you can turn that off, but then you don't get to know who visits yours.
